The ADDvantange Center

A warm, caring environment that empowers each participant toward self-discovery, individual choice and social success!

The ADDvantage Center is ADD's newest service area, having been open since April, 2006. The ADDvantage Center is a day service program built on a community-center model.

The 7,000 square foot facility, located at 810 West Third Avenue in Grandview Heights, consists of a large gathering room (with lockers for all participants), an arts and crafts room, computer lab, training kitchen, recreation room (with pool tables, air hockey tables, foosball tables and a 62' TV!) and two additional classrooms.

Activities offered at the ADDvantage Center include both center-based and community-based recreation and educational offerings. At least three options are offered each morning and afternoon. See the list below for some of our exciting activities!

The center is a warm, inviting space staffed by experienced day program staff who are excited about opening up new avenues of exploring life for people with developmental disabilities.

What is the ADDvantage Center?

The ADDvantage Center is a recreation and education based adults day services facility for individuals with developmental disabilities residing in Franklin County.

Who is qualified to attend the ADDvantage Center?

To qualify, participants needs either an IO or Level 1 waiver, or be specially approved for funding by the Franklin County Board of MRDD. Participants also need to be free of communicable diseases and not have behaviors that could harm themselves or others.

What are the Center's hours of operation?

Business hours at the center are 8:30AM until 4:30PM.

Hours of service are from 10:00AM until 3:00PM.

How are participants transported to the Center each day?

ADDvantage Center employees pick up and drop off each participant in ADDvantage Center vans.

Participants are typically picked up between 9:00AM and 9:45AM and arrive at the Center by 10:00AM.

Participants leave the center at 3:00PM and typically arrive at their residences by 4:00PM.

Are all services based at the Center?

The ADDvantage Center offers both daily "in-Center" and "in-Community" based activities thus providing a well rounded range of experiences for each participant.

Do you set what each participant is going to do each day?

Participants are able to choose from 3 activities each morning and afternoon. A list of activities for the month are distributed prior to the start of the month, allowing participants to select the activities that they would like to participate in. The interests and requests of participants are utilized in developing the activity list so that the activities match with the needs and desires of participants.
